When it comes to boutique shopping in Bangkok, it doesn’t get much hipper than Onion, the city’s much-loved multi-label store that doubles as a cafe. Wooden floors, whitewashed brick walls and rusted metal details add to the shop’s cool aesthetic. Here, it’s all about quality over quantity. Carefully curated products from local and imported brands are on offer at both of Onion’s brick and mortar locations, which are unsurprisingly tucked away in two of the city’s coolest neighbourhoods Ekkamai and Ari. Find everything from handcrafted aprons from Bangkok-based YellowStuff to rain jackets from Danish brand Rains to cult favourite staples from Champion, Converse and Dickies. Plus, Onion has their own in-house line of simple tees, hats, bags, glasses and sweet pins. You’ll want to fuel up for shopping at the onsite cafe that brews beans supplied by popular Brave Roasters. Their Ekkamai location also serves a mean lox bagel and croissant sandwiches.
